Aug. 3rd WCSD Board Meeting Letter

The following is a copy of the letter the new Walnut Crossing Board of Directors is sending to all residents and property owners:

On August 3rd, the new board filed the 2025 annual report with the Arkansas Secretary of State. The board elected Dominic Smith as president, and is still seeking individuals interested in serving as secretary and treasurer. In the interim, Melissa Gresham is filling those roles. The board decided to send a letter to both residents and property owners updating you on what was discussed in our first meeting (minute notes are included at the end of the mailed letter or via email). If you have any questions, reach out by emailing president@walnutcrossing.org. Please remember that the board is all volunteer based, so have patience as we navigate the future.

The following are the concerns that were addressed by the board:

  1. POA Dues: Due to the lack of communication from the previous board of directors, the new board will only be seeking to ensure that 2024 dues and 2025 dues are paid in full. The dues are $125 per year, per property. The board will waive all late fees if 2024 and or 2025 are paid in full before January 1st, 2026.
Payment information can be found here.

The board is also willing to waive dues on a case by case basis. If you would like to be considered for this, please email the board at president@walnutcrossing.org and you request will be reviewed by the directors.

  1. Budget: In order to ensure that POA dues are being used judiciously and to the benefit of all residents, the board is conducting a review of expenses and creating a new budget outline for 2026. This includes reviewing contracts with current vendors, and upkeep required for the neighborhood. At the moment, the largest expenditure is lawn maintenance for the common areas. When the budget review is completed, residents and property owners will receive a copy. If you have a suggestion for the use of dues, please email us president@walnutcrossing.org.
  2. Covenant Enforcement: The board decided that due to the lack of enforcement of covenants by the previous board, a slow ramp up of enforcement is essential to prevent any unnecessary disruption. To achieve this, we placed a moratorium on fines until October 15th, 2025.

To begin the transition, letters will be sent to residents and property owners who are not compliant with the organization’s covenants starting October 16th, 2025. If an individual has questions about why they are receiving a notice of violation, contact information will be included in the letters. We welcome your feedback, and hope to create covenants that make our community better. A brief overview of the covenants, and resources can be found at the end of this letter. For more in depth information about the covenants, you can visit

  1. Transparency: The new board’s ultimate goal is to create a community that works for all of its residents, and to ensure transparency for how dues are being used. The next board meeting will be Sunday, September 7th. If you have any questions, or concerns that you would like addressed, please send those to president@walnutcrossing.org, and they will be added to the agenda to be addressed. This meeting is not open to the public, but will have notes available for review.

In conclusion, we want you to enjoy living here, and feel as though you are getting the most from your dues. We hope that going forward, all residents feel welcome, and that their voices are heard by the board.

Sincerely,
The Walnut Crossing POA Board of Directors
