Dear Walnut Crossing residents and property owners,
Now that 2026 has begun, the Walnut Crossing Property Owners Association would like to reach out to share important updates regarding POA dues, changes in board operations, and reminders about key covenants that help keep our neighborhood safe, clean, and enjoyable for everyone.
- Annual Members Meeting: August 2nd, 2026
In accordance with the Walnut Crossing Property Association’s bylaws, the annual membership meeting for all property owners is scheduled for August 2nd, 2026. More information such as time and location will be announced a month before the meeting. This meeting will be open to the public, and all residents and property owners are welcome to attend. However, only property owners will be able to vote in the board election. - POA Dues Collection and Use
Walnut Crossing POA yearly dues are payable for 2026 from January 1st through March 31st. Annual Dues are $125 and are due prior to March 31st each year. After this date, and every additional 30 days beyond, a 10% fine is applied to the total.
Annual dues are currently being collected either via:
- PayPal on the Walnut Crossing website: www.walnutcrossing.org/dues-payment
- Check sent to: Walnut Crossing POA, PO Box 1348, Farmington, AR, 72730
Due dates: January 1st – March 31st
Your dues are essential to maintaining and improving the neighborhood. Funds are being used for:
- Common area maintenance (landscaping, signage): the board approved funding for repair and maintenance of the existing track surrounding the retention pond and the park entrance on Serviceberry.
- Administrative costs (mailings, recordkeeping, compliance)
- Reserve planning for future projects
- A financial summary of the previous year is available upon request.
- Professional Services Being Solicited
To ensure Walnut Crossing remains well cared for, the POA is currently working with the Regina Young CPA office in Fayetteville to ensure that proper accounting and tax filing practices are being followed. We also hope to work with them to ensure that POA dues are easy to pay and document in the future. - Reminder of Community Covenants
As of October of 2025, the Board began enforcing the neighborhood covenants. We are sending mailings once a month about violations. We want to make sure that we’re allowing time for the issue to be remedied before a fine is applied. If you have a question about a notice, please feel free to contact the Board. The following is a quick reference guide to key Walnut Crossing covenants. Please review carefully, as these rules help protect property values and maintain a high quality of life.
- Parking Rules: Parking in grass or posted zones is prohibited and may result in fines. Guest parking is restricted on one-way streets owned by the POA. (See covenant guide for full details.) More information on street parking on public streets can be found by going to: https://www.fayetteville-ar.gov/603/Code-Compliance
- Garbage and Recycling: Trash, recycle containers, and bulky waste must be stored in garages or behind fences between pickup days. Containers may only remain curbside overnight before pickup and must be removed the same day. You can find out more about Fayetteville’s trash, recycling, and bulky waste pickup by going to: https://www.fayetteville-ar.gov/4085/Recycling-and-Trash
- Grass height may not exceed 6 inches.
- Lawns must be properly trimmed and clippings removed after mowing.
- Construction and Exterior Changes: Applications for all major construction or landscaping projects must be submitted by the homeowner and approved by the Board in advance of construction.
-No political signs are allowed on lawns.
- Seasonal lighting and decor must be removed within 7 days after a holiday.
- Fireworks are strictly prohibited in Walnut Crossing.
- Additional Comments on Covenant Enforcement: The Board is actively working on learning how these covenants can be changed legally and in a way that reflects what the neighborhood at large wants. If you have any feedback, we would appreciate you submitting it via email so we can address it in our next board meeting.
Thank you for doing your part to support our community. Walnut Crossing remains a wonderful place to live because of residents and property owners like you who contribute time, care, and cooperation.
